So you want to make major changes in your life. You’re learning to eat better- you’re leaner and getting stronger in your body. You’re proud of the progress you’ve made and the tools you’ve developed to stay on top of your nutrition and fitness programs.
And then…. life happens.
Stress, family, the holidays…. Need we say more? There’s nothing like a little extra on the life plate to unhinge your best intentions to staying true to your new healthy, leaner lifestyle.
First it’s a misstep- then a slip, into a forward tumble and then we’re completely off the tracks.
What happened? Congratulations, you’re human.
Like anything worthwhile, habits require practice. Although the third trimester of T School is all about creating the balance to celebrate being human, we’ve been developing that powerful practice from Day 1 of T School.
We know that unless we create a daily practice to help keep us centered and grounded, all of our best intentions are all too easily sabotaged by the landmines of stress, fatigue, sleeplessness and hormonal imbalances.
We all know we need to take care of ourselves, but taking care of our ‘selves’ seems to be the last item on many of our to do lists. This is a huge mistake. Can you truly give to others in your life that rely on your love and support if you are spiritually and emotionally bankrupt yourself?
Loving ourselves is NOT selfish- in fact, it’s one of the most giving acts we can do. By taking a few minutes in the morning, practicing your AM I AM ritual, you are lovingly creating a the day, the activities, the intention and generosity of each moment. What could be more giving than that?
Here are some of our favorite T School resources to create rather than react to your life. By taking a few minutes daily to be quiet, contemplative and grateful, we are able to transform our selves, our lives and the love we give and receive each day, Now that’s what we call a magnificent return on investment! This is what the AM I AM practice is all about.
Here’s our Top Five Resources to recharge your day.
(We’re so excited about this that we broke our rule to keeping it to three)

Affirmations are positive statements that describe a desired situation, which are often repeated, until they get impressed on the subconscious mind. This process, pushes the subconscious mind to take action and to strive to make the positive statement come true. When you know how to use affirmations, you get a great tool for achieving success and for improving your life.
Most people repeat in their minds negative words and statements concerning the situations and events in their lives, and consequently, create undesirable situations.
Words work both ways, to build or to destroy.
It is the way we use them that determines whether they are going to bring good or harmful results to our lives.Your subconscious mind accepts what you keep telling it. If you keep saying negative things, it attracts corresponding events and situations to your world.
So why not choose only positive statements in order to get positive results?
To help make this process simple AND powerful, we’ve chosen the ThinkUp App.
This app allows you to create a list of custom affirmations, record them in your own voice and create a personal meditation track.
There’s simply nothing more powerful than positive statements recorded in your own voice, set to music that motivates and inspires you to help you train your brain for greater health, vitality and happiness.
Try recording your own affirmations or choose from a list of topics for areas of your life you would like to improve. Listen to it during your AM I AM while stretching, in the car, or on a walk.
We don’t feed our bodies crap- It’s time to begin feeding our brains the right food too!

There’s nothing that will settle the mind and heart like being grateful. Gratitude is a grounding emotion in that it opens your heart and presence to the gifts in your life. Keeping a gratitude journal is one way to practice gratitude- another way is to “pay it forward” by performing at least one random act of kindness per day.
That’s why we’ve incorporated a spot for being grateful each day and the reminder to pay it forward with your DAILY RAK (Random Act of Kindness). Keeping a journal of any kind helps keep you focused on your program, but keeping your T School Journal helps you take care of YOU and put your life into a greater context: Why you are here, who you want to be and who you want to serve.
By knowing your place in life, by knowing you are loved and worthy of all of your desires, by realizing the many gifts you have (and must) share with others, your goals, your progress and your successes come effortlessly and with more joy.
Another way to get grounded is to take time to be part of your community. Your T School Coaches are here to serve you and encourage you on your journey. They know how transforming this program and practice is because they have lived it. Use them, your accountability partner and your team mates to help you discover more power, strength and fortitude than you’d ever previously imagined.
In the spirit of our community, share your sources for finding balance in a busy world. You can post your shares below or on our private T School Facebook page.
Because it really does take a village.
