Kim AlvarezKim joined Pilates 1901 when she moved to Kansas City to enroll at the Conservatory, where she continues her studies in dance.  Kim is a fully certified STOTT Pilates® instructor who feels comfortable teaching beginner, intermediate and advanced exercises in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels.  At Pilates 1901 she teaches a variety of classes including Tower, Mat Essentials, Reformer ON Ramp, Cardio Tramp and ON Ramp Chair.

As a dance instructor Kim has taught intermediate and advanced jazz, contemporary, lyrical and hip-hop technique to ages 7-18.   She is also a choreographer, and has worked with competitive dancers, staging solos and group numbers.

As a performing artist Kim enjoys teaching and performing in a variety of dance styles, her main focus as a dancer has been performing and choreographing in the competition arena. She has competed nationally and internationally since she was 7, garnering 10 national/international titles and 22 regional titles including being one of the final top 30 girls in Season 5 of “So You Think You Can Dance”.

As a singer, she has recorded 2 CD’s and was the emcee and featured singer/dancer for KidzRoc in Branson produced by Doucette Entertainment of Las Vegas in 2011. Selected as a 2012 summer intern at Broadway Dance Center, Kim received the Choreography Award from the dance faculty and was the first intern to have 2 dances placed in their showcase.
