From Rehab to Recovery to Mastery- Rachel Rocks Pilates at 1901

 

Okay, I know what you’re thinking!  This chick has an amazing Plank!

In Pilates we prefer to call it “long stretch” and we couldn’t  agree more, Rachel Zimmerman is AMAZING!   AND, just one of the reasons she’s our Pilates 1901 Peep of the Month!

In fact Rachel is so amazing that this is the SECOND time we’ve featured as our Peep of the Month.

The first time was back in 2013 when Rachel told her story of recovery from a severe core injury that had her sidelined as an athlete. Pilates helped her recover and here’s what she had to say…


37“I had just moved into the neighborhood, from LA and was looking for a Pilates studio.  I drove by and then checked it out online.  All the reviews that I read were outstanding and Pilates 1901 was clearly the premiere Pilates studio in Kansas City. 

I had done some pilates back in LA for physical therapy to rehab an abdominal surgery.  I really enjoyed it and went to a few studios out there but wasn’t a regular.

It’s always sort of intimidating going to a new studio.  In LA I went to a barre class studio and was very comfortable there.  At Pilates 1901, I found that all of the instructors and the clients were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and professional and I felt at home immediately.

I can’t believe the number of friends and connections that I’ve made through Pilates 1901.  It’s become part of my life (every morning at 6 am!).  The best part is the variety and number of classes.  You never get bored.  They all incorporate the same basic Pilates principles, but use them in different ways so that you can build and you end up using muscles that you never thought you had!

And even though I wasn’t coming to necessarily lose weight, but I have lost some.  I’ve definitely gained muscle tone and replaced fat with lean muscle.  Participating in the T School assessments are a great way to track that and I’ve learned a ton about nutrition as well.  All of this has helped me become a better runner and tennis player and help me avoid injuries. The biggest result is my core strength.  I have abs!!!

I would absolutely recommend Pilates 1901 to my friends and family, and I have!  Tina needs to get a studio out south so that everyone can easy access to the studio!! :)”
