<h3>WHICH CLASS IS RIGHT FOR ME?</h3>

<p><span style="font-size: small;">Try a variety of classes to see which one you like best. Our Pilates Mat and Equipment classes offer students of all levels the opportunity to progress at their own rate.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: small;"> Many of our students start with a series of private sessions to give them the vocabulary and experience to transition into classes with ease. We offer special discounts for private training for new students.</span></p>

<p>Our <strong>Reformer I </strong>classes offer new clients the chance to learn essential mat and reformer exercises for a workout designed to lengthen and define your muscles. This is the perfect step after your prepatory sessions with a private trainer.  We will teach you the basic principles and essential exercises needed to prepare you for group classes. <br />
 A minimum of 3 private sessions required for participation in any group class.  Instructor permission required for participation in this class.</p>

<p><strong>Mat classes</strong> are also offered for different levels and require no previous pilates experience. Pilates Mat I is a wonderful introduction to Pilates mat essentials, helping open the body and prepare it for a solid pilates foundation.</p>

<h3>Pilates Equipment Classes</h3>

<p><strong><em>A </em></strong><em><strong>minimum of three private pilates equipment sessions with a trainer is required before participation in ANY group equipment class.</strong> <strong>A minimum of one private session on the chair is required for the Reformer/Chair mix class.   Your trainer will advise you when you are ready to progress into group training classes.  This is for your comfort and safety.</strong></em></p>

<p><strong>Reformer I</strong>- This entry level Pilates equipment class provides new students a solid foundation of correct technique and essential mat and reformer exercises. Great for beginners and continuing students who want a basic total body mat and reformer workout. Your private trainer will guide you into this class when you are ready. 50 minutes.</p>

<p><strong>Reformer II</strong> &#8211; Using one of the most popular pieces of Pilates equipment, this class increases strength, flexibility and core stability in a workout you wil love as much as the results. Previous reformer experience or several Reformer I classes required for participation. 50 minutes.</p>

<p><strong>Reformer III</strong>- This non stop Pilates fitness class challenges students using the reformer, jumpboard and a variety of props. Fast paced and exhilarating, this will improve strength, endurance and focus. Experienced students only &#8211; with instructor approval. 50 minutes.</p>

<p><strong>Pilates BootCamp-</strong> We&#8217;ve taken the best of  reformer and traditional strength training and morphed them into a pilates based strength and conditioning workout that challenges all levels. Beware though, this circuit workout is only for those who want serious results. 50 minutes.   A min of 3 private sessions required for participation.</p>

<p><strong>Chair Reformer Mix- </strong> Try something new to improve your core control, muscular strength and tone with this 50 minute workout on the versatile Pilates Chair and Reformer. This spring based balance and conditioning workout is for students well versed in the pilates mat and reformer principles.   Previous reformer experience required as well as a min of one hour private training on the chair.</p></td>

<p><strong>Rob VanBiber</strong> is a<strong> STOTT PILATES® </strong> trained Pilates instructor, and has completed training courses in Mat, Reformer, and Injuries and Special Populations.  Rob&#8217;s interest in pilates began, while trying to find a form of excercise that would help improve his mechanics as a drummer.   Rob quickly fell in love with Pilates because of the results.  Having always been an active person, specifically a runner, Rob noticed the changes in his body happened amazingly quick!   His strength improved at a core level as his flexibility and mind body connection progressed.  &#8220;Not only that,&#8221; he says, &#8221; I have a blast doing this, and I look forward to my workout sessions all week.&#8221;</p>

<p>Rob&#8217;s background includes 10 years in Commercial Real Estate loan servicing as an Account Manager and Underwriter. As a drummer, Rob has been a working musician for 20 years, which includes recording and touring.   His passion for his own health and a method for sharing it led him to take his personal pilates training to the next level, becoming a STOTT PILATES® trained instructor.</p>

<p>This course prepares you to teach a broad range of exercises, variations and  modifications performed on the Reformer &#8211; the key piece of resistance equipment  used in Pilates exercise. The IR course also teaches you how to combine Matwork®  and Reformer based workouts for increased variety and intensity.</p>

<p>Upon completion  of this course you are able to further motivate group classes and customize  personal training sessions for a range of clients. In addition to the general  course objectives you learn:</p>

<p>50 hours of instruction, 10 hrs. observation, 30 hrs. physical review. 15 hrs. practice teaching.</p>

<p><strong>Cost: </strong>*$1450.00 *(does not include materials</p>

<p><strong>Dates: </strong>September 17-19<em>, </em>October 15-17 and November 11-14, 2010</p>

<div><p><span style="color: #663399;">John Garey is the owner of John Garey Pilates in Long Beach, CA, a STOTT  PILATES* Licensed Training Center. He has been a fitness presenter for 15 years  and has taught and motivated instructors throughout the world. John has  contributed to and appeared in numerous publications such as Shape, Men&#8217;s  Fitness, Pilates Style, the Chicago Tribune, the LA Times, and ePregnancy and  more. </span></p></div>

<p><span style="color: #663399;">John is a 1995 United States National Aerobics Champion.  He holds an MA in Adult Fitness from New York University. He has been described  by American Fitness Magazine as &#8220;one of the best instructors in the country.&#8221;  John has helped develop and promote numerous fitness programs for such  prestigious companies as Schwinn, Avia, Reebok, Urban Rebounder, BOSU, and STOTT  PILATES.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #663399;">John has studied the work of Joseph Pilates since 1992  and is a STOTT PILATES Master Instructor Trainer and International Presenter. In  addition, he is Pilates Method Alliance Certified and serves on the Ethics  Committee of the PMA. He&#8217;s a very dynamic and positive presenter and his energy  is contagious. John is a regular Master Presenter at prestigious Fitness and  Pilates Conventions such as IDEA, East Coast Alliance, DCAC, Can Fit Pro,  Pilates Method Alliance, and Body Mind Spirit.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Pilates helps to develop physical and/or mental strength and balance.  As an instructor, I have the opportunity to help others strengthen his/her body from the inside-out, while increasing form, balance and stability.  I am a life-long-learner and continue to grow as an instructor through further education and experience.</span></p>
